From natural material to an immersive assembly system.

Participants build and rearrange bamboo chairs through a workflow that moves from point-cloud scanning and Rhino processing to parametric joint strategies in Grasshopper and full-scale XR prototyping. Physical bamboo samples remain present throughout, allowing material knowledge and digital information to be understood together.

The session also demonstrates Wasp-based modular assembly and explores how computational variation can support rapid, adaptable designs while respecting the irregular character of bamboo.

理解空间,不是接收答案,而是主动建构意义。

工作营以“AI辅助的空间探索与叙事构建”为核心,面向设计及跨学科背景学生。参与者从古代图像和空间细节中提取线索,通过观察、猜测与验证建立空间、行为和文化语境之间的关系。

学生随后将形成的叙事脚本转译为可交互的 XR 体验原型,完成从空间理解、关系推理到体验表达的全过程。古画是重要案例,但不构成唯一研究对象;教学鼓励以多类文化图像开展数字遗产探索。

Workshop — Phygital Modular Structure

A gamified participatory-design framework connecting physical modular models, digital twins and immersive interaction.

A shared design environment across physical and virtual models.

The workshop integrates gamification, digital twins and extended reality within a phygital system. Gesture-based immersive interaction supports real-time engagement with virtual models, while tangible modular components make design outcomes easier to understand and discuss.

Built with Unity, the framework synchronises physical models and digital interfaces so designers and non-professionals can rapidly create, modify and test custom XR scenarios. Modular construction shortens iteration cycles and makes participatory exploration accessible to people with limited technical experience.
