A mixed-reality study on how hybrid physical–digital environments affect human emotion, attention restoration and stress reduction.

Blending physical and digital space to support the healing process.

The project proposes using Mixed Reality to integrate physical and digital content in a "physical-digital fusion" environment, using real settings and interactive content to address the limitations of fully virtual settings. By comparing the effects of virtual, real and mixed scenarios on attention restoration and stress reduction, the study explores how MR scene design influences perceptions of psychological healing, and aims to inform the creation of MR therapeutic environments grounded in human perceptual experience.

A platform that turns students' 3D works into an immersive spatial archive, reimagining Hong Kong's past, present and future through speculative narratives.

Turning students' 3D works into immersive experiences of Hong Kong.

This project transforms EID students' 3D works into immersive, experiential spatial archives. Through the imaginative perspectives of students, it re-examines Hong Kong across different time periods, blending physical and digital models, VR content and interactive experiences to reinterpret the city's past, present and future. Inspired by cinema, mythology and literature, the exhibition uses speculative narratives and visual storytelling to transport visitors into parallel realities.

This immersive experience uses Mixed Reality technology to reveal the inspiring stories behind athletic success, showcasing not only the physical excellence of Hong Kong athletes and sports enthusiasts but also their mental resilience. Through interactive experiences, audiences immerse themselves in narratives of perseverance, passion and mental well-being.

Phygital Workspace

A trans-disciplinary study of how XR interaction can strengthen human connection in hybrid workspaces while reducing travel-related carbon footprints.

A framework for physical-digital workspaces that connect people.

Using a systematic review approach, the project examines the current adoption of XR technology across business environments and assesses how it can reduce carbon footprints by lowering the need for physical travel, enabling remote collaboration and enhancing workspace efficiency. The resulting framework spans four key dimensions — XR infrastructure, collaborative work environments, enhanced social interaction and environmental impact assessment — to guide the development of sustainable physical-digital integrated workspaces.
