Biography
Stephen Siyue Zhang is a multidisciplinary designer currently pursuing a PhD at the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. With a background in architecture, he holds a Diploma from the Architectural Association (AA) and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Liverpool, along with RIBA Part II qualification. Previously, Stephen worked with PIX Moving, where he contributed to autonomous urban mobility and future smart city planning initiatives. He also produced Dual-exist Dong Village, an award-winning animation recognized by the RIBA 10 Best City in Metaverse, and served as a design tutor at the China Academy of Art, supporting XR production and interdisciplinary design education. His work aims to bridge digital innovation and spatial storytelling to reshape how architecture is experienced and taught.

Research Interest and Direction
His research focuses on the integration of XR (Extended Reality), phygital interaction, and gamification in architectural education and cultural dissemination. He is currently developing an XR-based education platform that overlays real-time architectural and cultural information onto buildings, enabling students to better connect textbook content with real-world spatial experiences.
